Top 2009 Picks and 2010 Predictions

This year has been roller coaster of a year for all. Obama taking office, the recession, the war, health care bill, housing crisis, unemployment.   When you look back, how do you feel? Accomplished, complacent, proud or a feeling of I just got by?

But in the midst of this negative news, technology continues to blossom.  The internet is a continued source of growth and exploration into a digital universe that is still evolving.  There is an incredible combination of elements coming together on the web.  These elements are global population growth on the web, mass communications that are being disseminated, tried and tested technology solutions that are being leveraged by smart businesses.

There are many great highlights from this year:

Twitter – Everyone has something to say. It’s an awesome communication tool that is reshaping business strategy, communications and revenue streams. My twitter is twitter.com/nicoleslavitt

Some of my favorite tweeters are on these lists

Facebook – According to Wikipedia, “The website currently has more than 350 million active users worldwide.”

Ebay – In a “down/ recession” market, their stock price opened the year at $14.66 and is now trending at $24.00 as of Dec. 1st, 2009.  Not a bad year for investors.

WordPress – The tool of tools! This incredible open source software should never be underestimated. WordPress, in the correct hands, can accomplish many goals for any business. This blog is using wordpress, I just wanted to disclose.

These sites are still in their infancy.  It is going to be incredible what happens over the next 10 years.
